Ergonomics Program Planning

Program Planning Guide

Plan roles, response paths, and privacy before collecting data

A useful ergonomics process is clear about scope, ownership, escalation, consent, access, and retention.

Define scope

Separate education, workstation review, medical care, disability accommodation, safety reporting, and procurement.

Assign owners

Name who receives requests, who may evaluate them, and who can approve changes.

Minimize data

Collect only what is necessary for a documented purpose and avoid copying sensitive details across systems.

Review outcomes

Measure response quality and completion without exposing individual health information in broad reports.

This publication does not design or operate employer programs and does not accept program data.
